Qualifications

This company is looking for a motivated Tower Field Engineer who is physically capable, technically driven, and eager to develop their skills. The role offers a contract-to-hire opportunity, with a company van provided for home use and all travel expenses covered.

Responsibilities:
  • Respond promptly to network outages and diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment on tower and rooftop structures
  • New construction and maintenance of wireless infrastructure, towers, rooftops, and other communication structures
  • Microwave antenna and equipment installation, path alignment, and troubleshooting
  • Terminate and splice fibre using cutting-edge equipment and techniques
  • Become the on-site technical resource for sub-contractors during new construction
  • Safely operate vehicles, rigging equipment, and capstan winches
  • Provide daily reporting on job progress, operational issues, and timeline updates
  • Participate in ongoing training and complete all mandatory company certifications
Skills/Must Have:
  • 2–3 years of wireless/microwave networking experience, this is the core technical requirement
  • 2+ years of climbing experience, comfortable on towers up to 600 feet
  • Must hold a current Authorized Climber/Rescue course certificate
  • Valid US passport and driving licence, travel is 70% of the role
  • Field engineering experience, installation and commissioning on communication structures

  • Reliable, proactive, and highly motivated, you don't wait to be told
  • Ability to climb all structure types up to 600 feet, majority between 150–400 feet
  • Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment, regularly up to 75 lbs, occasionally more
  • Long-haul driving, typically 1–4 hours, occasionally up to 10 hours in a shift
  • Flexibility for overtime, evenings, on‑call, and occasional weekend work
Desirable Skills:
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Fibre knowledge, fusion splicing and OTDR troubleshooting
  • Experience with AC/DC power systems
  • RF theory and signal flow knowledge
  • Spectrum Analyzer and Cable/Antenna Analyzer troubleshooting
  • Microwave and/or millimetre wave experience
Contract Details:
  • Contract to hire, 6 months with a clear path to permanent
  • Van provided and kept at your home address
  • All travel expenses covered
  • Based in Spokane, WA. 70% travel across the US
