Job summary

Express Employment Professionals in Cheyenne, WY is seeking a Tow Truck Operator. This role offers a starting pay of $19.00/hr DOE and is a permanent, full-time position.

You should have a basic knowledge of cars and automotive parts and enjoy solving problems while working hard. You will communicate with dispatch, connect vehicles to the tow truck, transport them to service stations, assist customers, perform minor on-scene repairs, and complete service reports.

Qualifications

• On-call rotating schedule with compensation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with dispatcher regarding location and status.
• Attach/remover vehicle to tow truck using chains, winch, or locks.
• Transport disabled vehicles to service stations or yards.
• Explain problems to customers and offer appropriate assistance.
• Perform basic on-scene repairs such as tire changes or jump starts.
• Write service reports and process payments.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance of the truck.

Must Haves:

• 25 years of age for insurance purposes
• Valid Driver's License & MVR
• Background Check and Drug Screen required
• Rotating on-call scheduling required but compensated for!

Day in the life of a tow truck operator:

• Communicate with the dispatcher in regards to location.
• Connect vehicles to the tow truck- may include using a chain, winch, steering locks, and other devices as well as affixing lights onto the towed vehicle.
• Transport disabled vehicle back to the service station or junkyard.
• Interact with customers, explaining their automotive problems, potentially diagnosing the cause, and providing necessary assistance.
• Communicate well and musthave a basic knowledge of cars and automotive parts.
• Perform small repairs on the scene of a breakdown such as changing tires, reconnecting parts, or jumpstarting.
• Write up reports of services rendered and accept payments.
• Maintain a professional appearance and keep a clean, organized truck.

Experience in operating a tow truck preferred, but will train the right person!
