Job summary

OPEN ROAD AUTO GROUP is seeking a Flat Bed driver in Morristown, NJ to transport vehicles by truck and perform pre/post-trip inspections. You will load/unload, plan routes, log hours, and ensure compliance with safety rules.

The role requires prior truck driving experience, the ability to handle loading tasks, and adherence to safety standards. CDL is a plus, and the schedule is five days a week.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Ability to drive trucks and tow trailers.
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations in the last 3 years.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations.
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks.
• Physical dexterity and coordination.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Adherence to safety standards at all times.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must be available to work a five day work week.

Responsible for using a truck to transport vehicles. Also required to perform vehicle inspections before and after each trip, and assist in loading and unloading.

• Transport vehiclesover land to and from points of origin to destination sites.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Maneuver truckinto loading or unloading positions.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions.
• Inspect tow truckfor mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report defects, accidents or violations.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.
