Job summary

APAC Central Inc. is seeking an Arkhola Dredge/Tow Boat Deck Hand in Van Buren, AR. You will support docking operations, perform rigging checks, and assist with tow work on river channels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Willingness to travel and work away from home, including nights and weekends when needed.
• Must be 18 years or older and pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
• Valid driver's license that meets state requirements.
• Strict adherence to safety protocols is essential.
• Comfortable working in a team and supporting co-workers and supervisors in all aspects of the job.
• Ability to perform general labor, use hand and power tools, and always maintain PPE compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage docking operations and inspect barges and rigging tows.
• Champion workplace safety following USCG/MSHA guidelines.
• Wear PPE and understand emergency procedures for designated areas.
• Take directions from the River Foreperson and collaborate with crew daily.
• Develop skills as a tow boat pilot in training and assist with deck line handling and navigation.
• Communicate clearly by radio or signals to coordinate tasks and solve problems.
• Maintain boat and barge and report issues promptly.
• Monitor and report daily production rates and challenges to leadership.
• Display professionalism and reliability in interactions with crew and supervisors.
