Sazerac Company is seeking a part-time Experience Ambassador in New Orleans to provide an engaging and educational experience for visitors at the Sazerac House. Responsibilities include delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining sampling stations, and raising brand awareness. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in hospitality with a focus on customer experience.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in hospitality or public-facing roles.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours.

Nestled at the corner of Canal Street and Magazine Street, and less than 350 yards from the original Sazerac Coffee House, The Sazerac House will be New Orleans’ most memorable destination offering an enriching sensory experience that embodies the city’s spirited and historic character.

The Sazerac House will take its visitors through a journey of the history and culture of spirits in New Orleans showcasing the company’s brands relevant to the city of yesterday and today.

Job Description/Responsibilities

The part-time Experience Ambassador is responsible for creating a welcoming, entertaining and educational atmosphere to all visitors of the Sazerac House and internal customers. This person provides exceptional customer service and is recognized as an advocate of the Sazerac House featured brands and spirited experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures exceptional customer service is provided to all Sazerac House visitors. Creates a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors. Is attentive and available to assist visitors. Follows up/ follows through on visitor’s inquiries. Anticipates visitor’s needs. Thanks visitors and extends an offer to return. Is knowledgeable about the featured products, gift shop merchandise and special events. Makes suggestions to management to enhance tours and expand opportunities for sales.
  • Anticipates the traffic flow and ensures adequate inventory of sampling tools on hand to provide proper samples per day. Provides information and entertainment for visitors to help create "raving fans" of the Sazerac House and featured brands. Is attentive to visitor’s inquiries. Continually strives for improvements in tours and sampling stations. Is an advocate for The Sazerac House in the local community. Ensures adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices.
  • Monitors exhibit floor crowd flow and ensures all visitors feel welcome and safe. Ensures sampling stations property is stocked, processes orders of supplies and liquor on a daily basis, and oversees the execution of samples to visitors. Is attentive to visitor comments and questions. Assists with training of new experience ambassadors and gift shop associates. Assists with ensuring that storage rooms are clean, organized and properly stocked.
  • Ensures exhibit floors and sampling stations at the Sazerac House are kept organized, stocked, and clean at all times. Makes recommendations on merchandise based on visitor’s feedback.
  • Creates and develops a personal development plan with management to improve a skill/competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance.
  • Works with other gift shop associates and experience ambassadors to generate revenues and raving fans of the Sazerac House.
  • Keeps watch on inventory of liquor, sampling tools and supplies for the assigned station. Re-orders as necessary. Participates in the VIP and group visitor program.
Qualifications/Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a bartender, educator, tour guide, restaurant front of house, docent, historian, concierge, alcohol production, marketing, brand ambassador, or public relations
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights/weekends)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to project a professional and approachable image
  • At least 21 years of age

PREFERRED

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 years Wine and Spirits or Hospitality industry experience
  • 1 year Experience dealing with VIP guests
