Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Total Store Sanitation Specialist to maintain department cleanliness and safety. The role involves deep cleaning, proper chemical handling, pest control, and ensuring food safety standards across store departments.

You will work with store leaders, maintain equipment, and may perform Total Store Sanitation Rep duties as needed. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to work late evenings or overnight shifts.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of safety and food handler certifications upon hire.
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and basic sanitation principles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department cleanliness and safety with urgency.
• Deep clean and disinfect processing areas and equipment.
• Document chemical handling and sanitation verification functions.
• Use cleaning tools and chemicals properly.
• Follow H-E-B chemical program and organize maintenance stock.
• Apply knowledge of product handling, food preparation, and sanitation equipment.
• Identify insects or rodents and place pest control traps.
• Ensure food safety and sanitation per SOPs.
• Communicate maintenance needs or improvements to Store Leaders.
• Assist customers and perform Total Store Sanitation Rep duties when needed.
