Job summary

Torchy’s Tacos is seeking a Prep Cook in Indiana to produce menu items according to our Taco Bible, maintain a clean kitchen, and prep ingredients for service. You’ll set up your station, follow recipes, and ensure strict food safety standards, including FIFO inventory practices.

You’ll document weights and yields, rotate stock as needed, and assist with other duties as required. You’ll also contribute to masa production and tortilla pressing, plus flour tortilla prep and cooking on a flat top

Qualifications

• State and local requirements for Food Handler’s certification must be met.
• Certification(s) must be obtained by first day or per location timeline.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment listed above and basic food prep knowledge.
• Age 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Produce food items per prep sheet, following Torchy’s standards and recipes.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including walk-in and equipment daily.
• Set up and break down station, ensuring readiness and cleanliness for shift.
• Follow Taco Bible recipes and uphold Torchy’s food standards.
• Practice proper food safety and HACCP, using FIFO for inventory.
• Record pre- and post-weights, track yields, and label/dates for items.
• Rotate products as needed and assist with other duties as requested.
• Masa production and pressing tortillas; prepare flour tortillas and cook on flat top.
