Job summary

Permanent Placements LLC seeks an experienced Litigation Paralegal for its Los Angeles office. The role focuses on tort defense litigation, including personal injury claims and property damage disputes, and involves managing cases from inception through trial.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience, strong discovery and trial-prep skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with attorneys and experts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of civil litigation paralegal experience.
• Experience supporting tort defense litigation matters.
• Experience with personal injury, transportation-related claims and property damage disputes.
• Strong background in discovery management and trial preparation.
• Experience retaining and coordinating expert witnesses.
• Experience preparing medical chronologies.
• Excellent organizational and project-management abilities.
• Strong written communication and proofreading skills.
• Ability to independently manage case responsibilities while working collaboratively with attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain litigation files from initial intake through settlement, mediation, arbitration, or trial.
• Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely responses and filings.
• Assist attorneys with case strategy development and litigation support throughout all stages of a matter.
• Draft and prepare discovery materials including Interrogatories, Requests for Production, Requests for Admission, and subpoenas.
• Assist with drafting discovery responses, document productions, and privilege logs.
• Organize, review, and manage large volumes of case documents.
• Prepare attorneys for depositions and hearings; organize deposition materials and exhibits.
• Coordinate witnesses and case logistics; attend trials and provide on-site support.
