As a Torque & Test Operator, you'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity and safety of drilling, completions, and production equipment. From precision torqueing and bolt tensioning to hydrostatic pressure testing, you'll help keep some of the industry's most important equipment operating safely and efficiently.
What You'll Be Doing
Torque, Tension & Test Like a Pro
You'll work on:
- BOPs (Blowout Preventers)
- Valves
- Flowlines
- Manifolds
- Other critical production and drilling equipment
Your responsibilities include:
- Performing torqueing, bolt tensioning, and hydrostatic pressure testing services
- Conducting static torque checks and verifying specifications
- Reading and interpreting torque charts, hydro test charts, and customer requirements
- Tracking flange management data, torque values, tension values, and pressure test results
- Operating and maintaining hydraulic torque wrenches, torque packs, test pumps, hoses, and manifolds
- Troubleshooting equipment and performing minor repairs when needed
- Verifying pipe specifications and torque requirements with customers
- Completing field tickets, work orders, and operational documentation accurately

- Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and pre-job safety meetings
- Follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety requirements
- Maintain awareness of hazards and exercise Stop Work Authority when necessary
- Wear required PPE and ensure it remains in good condition
- Report incidents, near misses, and equipment issues immediately
- Follow pressure control, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and energy isolation procedures
Equipment & Asset Care
You'll help keep our fleet and equipment ready for the next job by:
- Driving company vehicles and transporting equipment safely
- Completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIRs)
- Cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining tools and equipment
- Reporting vehicle or equipment defects promptly
- Verifying equipment inspections, calibration status, and pressure ratings before use
Customer-Focused Service

You’ll:
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, supervisors, and teammates
- Build positive working relationships on job sites
- Represent CNC Oilfield Services with professionalism and integrity
This is a field-based position supporting 24/7 operations.
You should be prepared to:
- Work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
- Travel to remote job sites
- Remain on location when operational demands require it
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills for torque calculations and documentation
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of torque specifications, bolt sizes, gasket types, and flange management practices
- Knowledge of hydrostatic testing principles and procedures
- Ability to operate hydraulic torque wrenches and test pumps
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic tablet or computer skills for electronic documentation

Physical & Work Environment Expectations
This is an active, hands-on role in industrial and oilfield environments.
You must be able to:
- Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with assistance
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods
- Work at heights and in confined spaces
- Handle tools, hoses, and mechanical equipment
- Work in heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, mud, and high-noise environments
- Wear PPE including FRCs, hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
- Read gauges, charts, and operational documentation accurately
