Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is seeking a Torque Technician in Baytown, TX to support gas plant construction and field bolting operations. You will operate calibrated torque wrenches and hydraulic equipment, ensure joint integrity, and follow site procedures.

This role requires attention to safety and readiness for outdoor work. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of torque experience, familiarity with BOM materials, and the ability to work as part of a team under tight schedules.

Qualifications

What You Will Do

Some core responsibilities for a Torque Technician include:

• Torque Tech is responsible for executing technical bolting and joint integrity services in accordance with approved site and company procedures.
• Must know how to operate calibrated tools, including torque wrenches and pneumatic and hydraulic torquing equipment. Must be able to calibrate pneumatic and hydraulic torquing equipment to the desired torque and pressure.
• Able to identify and use all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
• Able to properly bolt up flanges using correct materials as indicated on the BOM.
• Able to identify when a flange connection is not properly installed, hi/lo, wrong gasket, or bolts.

Some physical demands of being a Torque Technician include:

• Able to work in outdoor weather and environmental conditions, including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations.
• Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs
• Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day.
• Moving the entire body. Considerable use of arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, and bending on a regular basis.
• Must be able to work on elevated platforms and maintain balance when stepping on narrow platforms such as beams and pipes. Must be able to perform these activities while wearing an approved full-body harness and lanyard.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• At least 2 years of experience as a Torque Technician

What Will Put You Ahead

• Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment
• 2 years of experience as a Torque Technician
• Previous experience being a leader for safety
• Familiar with welding basics
