The mission of all Tops associates is to adhere to the Tops vision of providing a friendly neighborhood store that saves the customer time and money. The Night Operations Manager Trainee is a well-rounded individual responsible for learning: all opening and closing procedures and enforcing all proper operating procedures throughout the store to create a positive work environment for associates and a positive shopping experience for the customer. Primary hours of responsibility 3 – 4 nights per week, these hours may vary based on each individual stores hours of operation and the needs of the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains Remarkable Customer Service and customer relations, as well as maintaining acceptable service levels
  • Reacts to all customer concerns quickly and effectively while following policies and procedures to provide the best experience possible
  • Closely monitor stock levels and ad support to ensure maximizing sales potential.
  • Act quickly and accurately if any problems arise, (customer, associate and or building situations/issues)
  • Refrigeration checks completed per SOP and logged.
  • Knowledge and awareness of "Crisis Manual" in case of power outage or weather related issue
  • Maintains proper staffing levels to handle the needs of the business.
  • Ensures a clean and safe environment for associates and customers by enforcing proper safety, sanitation, and operations policies
  • Maintains a friendly, professional and well organized image in all departments including but not limited to the parking lot, vestibule, checkouts etc.
  • Performs special store level tasks/projects as assigned by the store manager
  • Coordinating of receiving warehouse deliveries per schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School Education
  • 1-3 years retail experience preferred
  • Attendance at a Company MOD Class and the passing of MOD Certification test
  • Ability to work in multiple stores within the district/ region based on the needs of the business
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
  • Possess basic computer skills
  • Very strong customer service skills, communication, management/leadership skills, strong decision making skills, conflict management, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Working knowledge of Company SOPs, as well as the ability to make decisions and provide effective leadership
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
EQUIPMENT USED
  • Working knowledge of all store systems including POS, receiving, Kronos, pallet jack certification etc.,
  • Operation of the following:
  • Baler/compactor (must be 18 years of age)
  • Telephone
  • Case cutter (must be 16 years of age)
  • Scale
  • Pallet jacks (must be 18 years of age)
  • Wrapping Machine
  • Media scale
  • Computer
  • Oven
  • Walkie Stacker (must be 18 years of age)
  • Thermometer
  • Ladder (must be 18 yrs of age)
