Job summary

GDIT seeks a Technical Writer to develop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, manuals, and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency across projects.

Candidates bring 8+ years of technical writing experience, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and TS/SCI eligibility. Onsite work location is Washington, DC area, with opportunities to contribute to enterprise IT and mission-focused documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English or related field.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a Technical Writer in a technology-driven environment.
• Familiarity with government-specific guidelines and standard writing styles.

Responsibilities

• Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, including diagrams, manuals, and procedures.
• Develop and maintain Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to support project management and compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and SMEs to gather and organize technical information.
• Ensure documentation complies with policies, regulatory requirements, and standards.
• Review and edit existing documentation for accuracy and currency.
• Maintain revision records, version control, and repositories for accessibility.
