Job summary

Probity seeks a Data Engineer in Chantilly, VA to design, build, and maintain modern data solutions supporting critical Intelligence Community operations. You will join an Agile team of engineers and stakeholders to develop scalable data pipelines and cloud-based platforms in AWS.

The role requires building production-ready Python data solutions, ETL pipelines, and data modeling while ensuring data quality and performance. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 4–8 years of professional experience in data engineering or related areas.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes and pipelines.
• Strong Python production experience.
• Hands-on knowledge of AWS cloud services (EC2, Lambda, EKS, S3).
• Experience supporting scalable data platforms and production workflows.
• Knowledge of data modeling, integration, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise data pipelines for mission-critical workflows.
• Create and optimize Python-based data ingestion and transformation solutions.
• Support movement and integration of structured and unstructured data across systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve data quality, efficiency, and scalability.
• Design and support cloud-based data solutions within AWS environments.
• Participate in Agile sprints, planning, backlog refinement, and reviews.
• Investigate data-related issues and support production operations.
• Contribute to automation improving reliability of data engineering processes.
• Support testing, deployment, and maintenance of data platform capabilities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and data flow diagrams.
