Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector seeks a Principal Systems Engineer to lead ICD definition and management across IPTs. You will define interfaces, coordinate across disciplines, and ensure alignment with subsystem and system-level requirements.

The role is on-site in Rancho Bernardo, CA, El Segundo, CA, or Palmdale, CA, and requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with SAP readiness. You will engage with multiple modernization and sustainment efforts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a STEM field with related engineering experience.
• Active Top Secret SCI clearance or ability to obtain; SAP/PAR eligibility.
• Experience with DOORS, XML tooling, and Atlassian tool suite.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the ICD lead engineer, owning definition, documentation, update, and configuration control of ICDs.
• Develop and maintain hardware, software, and data interfaces between subsystems and external stakeholders.
• Coordinate and lead interface working groups to resolve issues and drive convergence across IPTs.
• Define and decompose interfaces from system-level requirements using software and hardware knowledge.
• Perform Systems Engineering activities including functional analysis, interface definition, and verification.
• Work on Agile programs using Jira with backlog refinement of interface tasks and stories.
• Present status of ICD maturity, risks, and impacts to leadership or customers.
