Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an Application Developer to join a government contractor supporting a national security initiative in Herndon, VA. The role requires an active Top Secret clearance and onsite reporting to the client location.

Responsibilities include applying development life cycle standards, programming in Java, integrating XML data, and collaborating across Linux/Windows environments. Angular and Kubernetes experience is highly desirable, with compensation in the 130k–150k range plus

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred.
2-10 years professional Java development experience.
Proven ability to work with XML and experience in COTS/FOSS integration and support.
Ability to troubleshoot and navigate multiple operating system environments including LINUX/Windows.
Experience with Angular and Kubernetes is a huge plus.
Active Top Secret security clearance required.

Responsibilities

Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.
Apply knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.
Correct program errors, compiling documentation of program development, and analyzing system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
Ensure software standards are defined and met.
