• Experience with dental practice management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist during procedures.
• Make patients comfortable, prepare for treatment, obtain dental records, and educate on postoperative and oral health care.
• Assist with impressions/restorations, patient charting, and taking dental x-rays as directed by a dentist.
• Help with office duties such as ordering supplies, scheduling follow-up appointments, and maintaining organized supplies.

Job description

We are currently looking for an exceptional, experienced, and qualified Dental Assistant to join our team. The Dental Assistant performs a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties, such as preparing the treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and assisting during procedures. He or she makes patients as comfortable as possible in the dental chair, prepares them for treatment, obtains their dental records, and instructs patients on postoperative and general oral health care. The Dental Assistant may prepare materials for impressions and restorations, patient charting, and take dental x-rays as directed by a dentist. In addition, he or she helps with office duties that support the clinical mission, including ordering of clinical supplies, scheduling follow up appointments for treatment, and keeping clinical supplies organized.

The ideal candidate is certified in the District of Columbia as a Dental Assistant II and has two years of experience. Candidates must have a pleasant and courteous personality, strong computer skills, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with dental practice management software is a plus.

Compensation

$20-$30 per hour
