Job summary

Greenleaf Corporation is seeking an operator to set up and run rotary wheel surface grinders, grinding flat and irregular surfaces to tight tolerances. You will read blueprints, plan setups, mount tooling, and verify dimensions, ensuring quality and compliance with procedures.

The role requires basic computer skills, safety awareness, and the ability to pass a drug screen and background check. Training is provided on the job, with day, evening, and night shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and operate surface grinding machines to grind flat or irregular surfaces.
• Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets and related data.
• Plan procedures for rotary wheel grinders and select abrasive wheels.
• Mount, align and secure tooling and workpieces; verify jig/fixture readiness.
• Start up machine and monitor operations; adjust controls to correct malfunctions.
• Verify finished dimensions comply with print specifications.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.

• Duties & Responsibilities**:
• Set-up and operate various surface grinding machines.
• Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches and related technical data to determine requirements, fixture set-up procedures, control setting and machining methods and sequences.
• Plan operating procedures on rotary wheel-type grinder and other grinders to grind flat surfaces; select abrasive wheels, change wheel segments and dress wheels, set wheel and table feeds, use magnetic table and chucks or claimp and secure single or multiple work piece setups; calibrate machine adjusting devices.
• Verify jobs have proper jigs and fixture.
• Mount, align and secure tooling, attachments and work piece.
• Start up machine and monitor display operations.
• Verify dimension of finished work peice to conformance with print specifications.
• Manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all safety, quality, work rules and regulations.
• Hours**: 40 M-F Day, Evening, and Night
