Base pay range

$20.00/yr - $24.04/yr

Duties

1. Issues, receives, and schedules use of equipment, tools, and repair stalls for patrons.
2. Uses chit or other parts assignment system for accountability of assigned tools.
3. Determines type of repair job involved and suggests a variety of tools needed to accomplish the repair.
4. Provides instructions to customers on cleaning processes, soiled rag disposal, sweeping and cleanup of repair or pit stall, and removal of excess automotive parts.
5. Ensures tools turned-in are clean, assesses breakage or damage if any; charges customer for tools according to prescribed price listing.
6. Operates cash register and accounts for cash using established procedures.
7. Maintains inventory control records of items issued, conducts minor maintenance and repair of tools and equipment.
8. Accounts for condition, inspects tools upon return, and stores or replaces items with new ones.
9. Arranges tools and parts as stock is replenished or added.
10. Develops display pegboards, cleans, and grinds tools requiring sharp edges.
11. Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times.
12. May be required to act as the primary or alternate equipment custodian.

Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• This position requires favorable completion of a pre-employment physical.
