Base pay range
$20.00/yr - $24.04/yr
Duties
- Issues, receives, and schedules use of equipment, tools, and repair stalls for patrons.
- Uses chit or other parts assignment system for accountability of assigned tools.
- Determines type of repair job involved and suggests a variety of tools needed to accomplish the repair.
- Provides instructions to customers on cleaning processes, soiled rag disposal, sweeping and cleanup of repair or pit stall, and removal of excess automotive parts.
- Ensures tools turned-in are clean, assesses breakage or damage if any; charges customer for tools according to prescribed price listing.
- Operates cash register and accounts for cash using established procedures.
- Maintains inventory control records of items issued, conducts minor maintenance and repair of tools and equipment.
- Accounts for condition, inspects tools upon return, and stores or replaces items with new ones.
- Arranges tools and parts as stock is replenished or added.
- Develops display pegboards, cleans, and grinds tools requiring sharp edges.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times.
- May be required to act as the primary or alternate equipment custodian.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position requires favorable completion of a pre-employment physical.
Qualifications

Experience demonstrating knowledge of automotive tools and parts, good workshop practices, inventory procedures, and customer service is required.
