Qualifications

Job Description

MGS has an exciting opportunity for a Toolroom Supervisor to join our MGS Richfield Manufacturing team.

The Toolroom Supervisor is responsible for coordinating all tooling activities and setting the tooling standards for the MGS Richfield manufacturing facility. Ensures that communication and coordination of all tooling repair and preventative maintenance are scheduled, both internally and externally, to coincide with development and production requirements, maximizing cost effectiveness and meeting customer requirements through continuous improvement.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Schedule and coordinate the activities of all toolroom employees to meet production demands.
  2. Coordinate tooling repair and preventative maintenance scheduling with production requirements.
  3. Manage the placement of tool repairs and preventative maintenance on internal and external bases.
  4. Troubleshoot tooling, related process issues, and defective parts.
  5. Determine repair requirements and preventative maintenance intervals.
  6. Develop repair procedures and preventative maintenance schedules.
  7. Maintain tool history, tracking, storage, and related systems.
  8. Manage tool preventative maintenance and repair costs.
  9. Review and adjust design to meet production needs, costs, and customer requirements.
  10. Maintain and update toolroom machinery, inventory, and supplies.
  11. Instruct, train, and advise staff as needed.
  12. Ensure toolroom quality standards and efficiencies.
  13. Maintain a skilled labor force to support production needs.
  14. Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  15. Track tooling repair costs and allocate costs appropriately.
  16. Serve as a point of contact for tooling repair inquiries from internal and external customers.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience
  • Completion of a state-licensed tool and die apprenticeship with journeyman certification or equivalent.
  • Seven to ten years of experience or equivalent on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge and skills for the Toolmaker position.
  • Basic understanding of injection molding processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Lockout/Tagout and Forklift certification.
