Job summary

Jobtailor in White Bear Lake, MN is seeking a Tool Room Technician to design, fabricate, assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot tooling and stamped components. You will set up CNC and manual equipment, build prototypes, and work with engineering teams.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, 2 years technical/apprenticeship, at least 2 years’ experience, English proficiency, and 2nd shift hours 2:30–11:00 PM.

Qualifications

  • 2-year technical/apprenticeship training or school preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in reading and writing in English.
  • Ability to work onsite in White Bear Lake, Minnesota.
  • Availability for 2nd shift, Monday-Friday, 2:30-11:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot parts or tools for stamped components and other products.
  • Design, assemble, and troubleshoot production and testing tools.
  • Use precision measuring devices to fabricate parts and build prototypes and tooling.
  • Set up and operate CNC and manual tool room equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and internal and external designers to improve products and tooling.
  • Maintain tool room records, tool numbering, and inventory levels.
  • Maintain tool room and major shop equipment according to procedures.
  • Understand engineering objectives and design intent and provide feedback.
  • Resolve tooling-related issues on the production floor.
  • Assist with cross-training and train new hires and temporary staff.
  • Follow training requirements and maintain a clean, safe work area.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
