Job summary

Tessy Plastics Corp. is seeking a skilled Toolmaker in Elbridge, NY to build and repair high-precision injection molds, troubleshoot mold problems, and implement engineering changes. You will work closely with production and engineering to keep molds ready for manufacturing and to apply process improvements.

The role requires CAD design navigation, MS Office proficiency, and IQMS scheduling usage. The position offers on-site work with competitive hourly pay and bonus opportunities where

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with tool making apprenticeship and 5 years' experience in custom molding.
• Ability to read CAD designs and use MS Office.
• Ability to prioritize workload from IQMS scheduling.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data to identify and resolve problems.
• Strong mathematical reasoning for fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
• Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking.

Job description

Toolmakers work on new mold construction and the repair of molds in production. This individual also works with production in trouble shooting mold problems, maintenance repair of the molds and engineering changes on high precision injection molds.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate, debug and repair hot runner and valve-gated molds.
• Implement engineering changes to the molds per the specifications given by the customer and/or Engineer.
• Work with scheduling, production and engineering to ensure molds are ready to run.
• Operate mills, grinders, lathes and EDM.
• Utilize software programs such as IQMS to ensure information on molds is always up to date.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent education and apprenticeship papers in tool making plus 5-years’ experience in custom molding environment.
• Must be able to navigate in CAD designs and MS Office.
• Must be able to prioritize workload from IQMS scheduling.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data to identify and resolve problems.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to working situations.
• Must apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target base pay for new hire salaries of the position. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Salary Range: $30 to $55 per hour
