Job summary

Pioneer Metal Finishing is seeking an up-and-coming tool/production associate to design, build, and adjust racks and tooling for optimal load density while meeting customer specs. You will work closely with Production and QA to maintain quality and improve tooling processes.

Role requires 1-2 years related experience and a strong mechanical aptitude, with hands-on use of hand/air/power tools, gauges, and measuring devices.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and adjust racks and tooling to maximize load density and efficiency.
• Ensure tooling maintains good electrical contact and proper part placement.
• Work with QA to develop and follow procedures for tooling and basic production tooling.
• Operate hand/air/powertools and measuring instruments.
• Assist in determining daily tooling priorities with supervision.

Overview

Works directly with Production and Quality Assurance to design efficient tooling to maximize load density while meeting all customer specifications and quality requirements.Continually review existing jobs to improve efficiencies of racking and develop tools toassistin making jobs more efficient and improve quality.Develop written procedures for rack maintenance and quality plans relating to tooling.

Essential Job Duties /Responsibilities

• Build and adjust Racks and toolingtomaximize load density and efficiency. Such as but not limited:

• Maximumamountof parts per rack load.

• Tooling will ensure good electrical contact.

• Racks will securely hold product to prevent loss of parts or contact.

• Proper part placement to prevent air pocketing, give adequate drainage,etc

• Fabricating racks to meet customer requirements.

• Develop hand tools for rackers andunrackersto improve efficiency and quality.

• Work directly with hand/air/powertools,gaugesand measuring instruments.

• Work closely with the quality department when writing procedures for both special tooling and basic production tooling.

• Work directly with Production and Team Leader/Supervisor todeterminedaily priorities needed on tooling requirements,maintenanceschedulesand procedures for both special tooling and basic production

• Advise Team Leader or Supervisor if tooling needs cannot be met on time and together decide what to do

• Performs some machining operations such as, but not limited to drilling,Milling,reaming, tapping, grinding, cutting, etc.

• Recognize operating irregularities and machine malfunctionsand notify designated person or Supervisor

• Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as assigned by the Tooling Supervisor or other designated person.

• Maintains a positive attitude, promoting teamwork between Tooling,Productionand QA departments.

• Mustexhibitcommunication skills to work with various departments and work directly with applicable vendors.

Work Environment

• Repetitive lifting up to 50lbs. unassisted.

• Sharp parts, sharp tooling, heavy carts, occasional hot and cold temperature and humidity levels, heat from ovens, moderate noise levels, limited hand and air tool use, compressed air (must use hearing protection).

• Must be able to differentiate between colorvariances.

• Potential splash exposure near process lines.

• Responsibilities are repetitive in nature.
