Job summary

PPG Industries in Grand Prairie, TX is hiring an Aerospace Tooling Technician for a day shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The role focuses on maintaining tooling, testing equipment, and ensuring reliable, high-quality parts for aerospace applications.

The position requires 4–5 years of tooling experience, welding and machining skills, and familiarity with lathe/milling and CNC machining for metal. Starting pay is $28.44/hour.

Responsibilities

• Determining and performing required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
• Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing machines and equipment.
• Ordering and installing replacement parts.
• Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (mechanical and electrical).
• Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield.
• Performs equipment failure analyses (including preventive and unscheduled maintenance).
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment problems.
• Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and maintenance procedures.

As a Tooling Technician, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people’s lives!

Primary Responsibilities

• Determining and performing required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
• Testing, troubleshooting, and repairing machines and equipment.
• Ordering and Installing replacement parts.
• Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g. mechanical and electrical).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools.
• Ability to push/pull 51 lbs. or more.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods
