Job summary

Connect Search, LLC is seeking a Tooling Supervisor to lead the tool department in Sheboygan, WI. The role focuses on staffing, scheduling, safety, cost control, and equipment uptime.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of supervisory experience in tooling, with a Journeyman Tool and Die Card or engineering degree preferred. Strong communication and CAD/SolidWorks familiarity are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably in tool room or related technical field.
• Journeyman Tool and Die Card and/or engineering degree preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication and leadership skills.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn programs quickly.
• Advanced knowledge in Excel preferred.
• CAD/SolidWorks reading ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the tool department in staffing, scheduling, quality, safety, cost control, and tooling optimization.
• Lead standardized processes for pressroom and tool room to maximize reliability.
• Serve as liaison between engineering, tool room, and manufacturing on projects.
• Act as technical resource for feasibility, concepts, and methods to improve tooling performance and/or part quality.
• Troubleshoot new and existing tools and establish and track corrective action to reduce downtime.
• Proactively research, recommend, and justify capital equipment expenditures to improve tool room process and function.
• Review current methods and processes to identify opportunities in the reduction of set-up times and improve tooling life.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and be actively involved in the implementation, planning, and execution of those projects.
• Create purchase orders and work with contractors and vendors to order new and replacement tooling.

• Contribute to leading and abiding by the use of standardized processes for pressroom and tool room to maximize expectations for reliability;
• Serve as a liaison between engineering, tool room, and manufacturing on a project by project basis;
• Act as a technical resource for feasibility, concepts, and methods to improve tooling performance and/or part quality;

• Ability to interpret readings in CAD and Solid Works is preferred.
