Job summary

HellermannTyton is seeking a Tooling Specialist in Milwaukee to support mold evaluations, repairs, and toolroom maintenance. You will coordinate with vendors, train technicians, and help improve tooling processes, while upholding quality and EHS standards.

The role requires moldmaking experience (Journeyman Toolmaker preferred), strong communication, and the ability to work non-standard hours. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate grinders, lathes, and mills as needed.

Qualifications

• Moldbuilding experience (Journeyman Toolmaker) preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good problem solving and detail orientation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must own precision tools.
• Able to stand and walk up to 8 hours.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and insurance.

Responsibilities

• Mold evaluations and recommend rebuilds.
• Evaluate and execute mold repairs or changes.
• Check-in new molds from outside vendors.
• Identify tooling improvements.
• Delegate work and train Tool Room Lead and Mold Maintenance Technicians.
• Adhere to production and quality standards.
• Use Tool Room equipment (grinders/lathes/mill).
• Collaborate with QA on quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Monitor toolroom activities in supervisor’s absence.
• Follow all safety regulations and PPE requirements.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Tool Room Manager, the Tooling Specialist is responsible for Toolroom Repair Projects, Mold Evaluations, Assist with Coordination of Outsourced Mold Repairs and continuous improvement of tooling. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton’s Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

Essential Functions:
