Job summary

HellermannTyton in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Tooling Specialist to support toolroom repair projects, mold evaluations, and outsourcing coordination, while upholding Quality and EHS standards.

Under the Tool Room Manager, you will evaluate molds, recommend repairs, check in new molds from outside vendors, identify tooling improvements, and train Mold Maintenance Technicians, with a focus on safe, efficient production.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Toolmaker preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Must be problem-solvers and detail-oriented.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must have own precision tools.
• Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
• Prior forklift experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mold evaluations and be able to recommend mold rebuilds.
• Accurately evaluate and execute mold repairs or changes.
• Evaluate and check-in new molds from outside vendors.
• Identify and communicate any possible tooling improvements.
• Delegate work as well as train Tool Room Lead and Mold Maintenance Technicians.
• Adhere to production and quality standards.
• Ability to accurately use Tool Room equipment (grinders/lathes/Mill/etc.).
• Work with QA to identify quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
• Assists in monitoring toolroom activities in absence of supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, PPE as well as all company policies and procedures.

Under the direction of the Tool Room Manager, the Tooling Specialist is responsible for Toolroom Repair Projects, Mold Evaluations, Assist with Coordination of Outsourced Mold Repairs and continuous improvement of tooling. This will be achieved by maintaining HellermannTyton’s Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.
