With over 700 employees and growing, we have thousands of years of combined electrical utility experience to draw from when committing to provide our clients with a wide range of utility services.

About this Role

The Tooling/Shop Lead coordinates and controls company tooling, shop runners, and related shop support activities, ensuring tools are properly inventoried, maintained, distributed, and available for field operations. • Monitor tooling condition and readiness, and recommend purchases based on need and usage.

Shop Runner Management

  • Direct daily shop runner activities, prioritizing deliveries, pickups, and tooling transfers based on shop, fleet, and field needs.
  • Maintain accountability for company vehicles, tools, and equipment in transit, and flag delays or issues to management.

Shop, Fleet & Field Coordination

  • Coordinate with the Shop/Fleet Manager on tooling movement, repair/inspection scheduling, and field tooling requests, ensuring timely delivery, pickup, and proper storage.
  • Communicate equipment or tooling issues that could impact field operations.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure tooling is maintained and used per manufacturer recommendations and company safety requirements; remove damaged or unsafe tools from service.
  • Assist with required inspections and certifications, and report safety concerns to the Shop/Fleet Manager.

Administrative & Leadership

  • Maintain accurate tooling records and track costs to reduce unnecessary purchases, rentals, and losses.
  • Lead shop runners by example on safety, organization, and reliability; keep storage organized and provide regular updates to the Shop/Fleet Manager.
What You'll Bring

Experience in construction, utility, fleet, equipment, tooling, or shop operations preferred; prior leadership/supervisory experience a plus.

Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple requests and changing priorities.

Basic computer skills and ability to maintain electronic inventory records.
