Job summary

D&W Fine Pack is seeking a manufacturing associate to perform basic setup and maintenance of tooling and equipment, including dies and molds, on punch presses and thermoformers. You will troubleshoot equipment, perform quality tests, and complete required paperwork.

You will follow safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and support food safety initiatives while adhering to GMP standards. This role requires reading blueprints and documentation and may require forklift certification.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot tooling and dies on punches and thermoformers.
• Examine products to verify quality conformance.
• Keep work area clean and organized; complete required paperwork.
• Assist with mold/die preparation and tool changes.
• Follow GMP and food safety training and procedures.

Job description

The purpose of this position is to perform basic setup and/or maintenance of tooling and equipment in order to support manufacturing. Responsibility for cleaning, assembling/disasembling, installing, removing and setting up dies and auxiliary equipment on various punch presses and/or thermoformers. Troubleshooting and operating punch presses and/or thermoformers and equipment; completing all necessary paperwork and performing quality tests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety

Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines

Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc.

Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Understand and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures

Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately

• Actively participates in the D&W safety improvement process/activities, e.g. Hazard Identification, Safety Suggestions, Safety Teams, etc.

Task

Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards/1 piece

Maintains his or her work area in a neat condition

Completes all required documentation pertaining to setups and removing dies

Assists other workers with specific chores as requested

Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’s

Ability to set/insert/remove molds and/or dies

Mold and trim die preparation

Inspect and/or clean molds and return them to storage racks

When pulling die, ensure last piece part accompanies the die back to the storage rack

Performs tool changes and final adjustments

Performs basic troubleshooting and adjustment of processing problems

• Supports the Plant’s Food Safety initiatives by completing plant required Food Safety training and by implementing / complying with the required practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/OR LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
