Job summary

Milwaukee Succeeds is seeking a Tooling Procurement & Maintenance Specialist to coordinate spare components, toolroom work, and external repairs. You will partner with engineering and production to minimize downtime, manage CMMS workflows, and support continuous improvement efforts in tooling reliability.

Responsibilities include planning spare parts, overseeing outsourced repairs, and ensuring compliant procurement of tooling materials, with a focus on cost control and lead time reduction.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of die casting and stamping tool tooling.
• Knowledge of tool materials, tooling applications, heat treatment, and machining processes
• Experience with tooling repair, preventive maintenance, and spare component management
• Ability to interpret tooling prints, CAD drawings, and technical specifications
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (Megamation or similar maintenance software)
• Knowledge of inventory management and procurement processes
• Strong coordination and communication skills between engineering, production, and vendors
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting capability for tooling-related production issues
• Understanding of continuous improvement methods (Lean Manufacturing, CI initiatives)

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for tooling design modifications, repairs, and component improvements.
• Assist with CI initiatives to improve tooling performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Support tooling conversions and standardization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues impacting production quality, uptime, or cycle efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering and toolroom to improve tooling life and serviceability.
• Ensure tooling readiness to support production schedules.
• Manage emergency tooling repair work orders to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate internal toolroom and external vendor repairs for tooling.
• Monitor repair status and communicate progress to stakeholders.
• Establish and manage spare component lists for high-risk tools.
