Job summary

Batesville is hiring a Mechanical Design / Tooling Engineer to design and implement tooling, fixtures, and machine components across the plant. You will develop detailed drawings, BOMs, and fabrication specs while collaborating with toolmakers, maintenance, and suppliers.

The ideal candidate has hands-on CAD skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a drive for continuous improvement on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2–5 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong CAD skills and GD&T knowledge.
• Ability to work on the manufacturing floor with operators.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify tooling, fixtures, gauges, and machine components using 3D CAD.
• Develop drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other fabrication documents.
• Work with toolmakers, maintenance, fabricators, and suppliers on tooling solutions.
• Evaluate tooling and equipment for improvement, standardization, and cost reduction.
• Manage project timelines and communicate project status.
• Provide engineering services daily to maintenance and tool room.
