Job summary

VEKA in Reno, NV is seeking a tooling maintenance technician to clean, inspect, and prepare extrusion tooling for production. You will disassemble, reassemble, and perform routine maintenance while ensuring high quality and safety standards.

The role requires careful attention to wear, damage, and calibration of dies and templates. Responsibilities include communicating issues to supervision, maintaining a clean work area, and operating a reach truck as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and inspect extrusion tooling per VEKA policy.
• Disassemble and reassemble extrusion tooling correctly.
• Perform maintenance on tooling as directed.
• Disassemble purged-in dies for cleaning and maintenance.
• Polish dies, templates, and calibrations as needed.
• Report wear and damage to supervisor promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Operate reach truck as required.
• Assist supervision and tooling staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

To clean, maintain and prepare the extrusion tooling to the required standard for production.

PRIMARY DUTIES

1. 1. Clean and inspect extrusion tooling (Components) according to VEKA Policy/Procedures
2. 2. Disassemble extrusion tooling and insure proper assembly
3. 3. Perform Maintenance on extrusion tooling as directed
4. 4. Disassemble purged-in dies
5. 5. Polish die, templates, and calibration as needed
6. 6. Communicate wear and damage to immediate supervisor
7. 7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment
8. 8. Operate Reach truck as needed

SECONDARY DUTIES

1. 1. Assist supervision and tooling maintenance personnel.
2. 2. All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Mechanical Aptitude, Oral Communication, and Accuracy. Safety and Quality oriented.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

GED, High School Education, Trade school preferred, or Previous Experience
