Veka-East-Inc. in Morganton, NC is seeking a tooling maintenance technician to clean, inspect, disassemble, and maintain extrusion tooling to production standards.

You will work with supervision to ensure tooling readiness and quality, performing scheduled maintenance, reporting wear, and keeping a safe, organized work area.

Candidates with GED or trade schooling are welcome; strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are valued.

• Clean and inspect extrusion tooling per VEKA policy
• Disassemble and reassemble extrusion tooling
• Perform maintenance on extrusion tooling as directed
• Polish die, templates, and calibration as needed
• Communicate wear and damage to supervisor
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Operate Reach truck as needed

JOB SUMMARY:

To clean, maintain and prepare the extrusion tooling to the required standard for production.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Clean and inspect extrusion tooling (Components) according to VEKA Policy/Procedures
• Disassemble extrusion tooling and insure proper assembly
• Perform Maintenance on extrusion tooling as directed
• Disassemble purged-in dies
• Polish die, templates, and calibration as needed
• Communicate wear and damage to immediate supervisor
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Operate Reach truck as needed

SECONDARY DUTIES:

• Assist supervision and tooling maintenance personnel.
• All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Mechanical Aptitude, Oral Communication, and Accuracy. Safety and Quality oriented.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

GED, High School Education, Trade school preferred, or Previous Experience
