Job summary

SIMTEC Silicone Parts, a U.S.-based manufacturer of precision tooling and molded components, is seeking a Tooling Maintenance Specialist/Toolmaker.

You will repair and maintain production tooling, machine and EDM tooling components, and ensure molds meet quality standards. The role requires experience with CNC machining, familiar with safety practices, and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience working in machinery maintenance in a manufacturing facility.
• 5 years’ experience in CNC machining (lathe, Mill, EDM).
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and tool prints.
• Expert knowledge and use of common manual repair tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• High level attention to detail with ability multi-task and prioritize work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance: Repair all production related equipment, hardware and tools as needed, this will include general maintenance and replacement of production machine parts to limit chance of production breakdowns. Document tooling maintenance in accordance with internal and external requirements. Develop/update process documents to show proper repair and maintenance techniques.
• Tool Making: Machine, grind, and EDM tooling components according to drawings.
• Cleaning: Clean, repair and maintain molds and inserts in accordance with the tool supplier’s maintenance schedule and instructions.
• Work environment: Maintain a clean and organized work space. Maintain a safe work environment by assuring conformance to policies and good practices. Address safety issues immediately – people, equipment or work area.
• Including other duties assigned by your Manager from time to time.
• Conduct special projects as assigned.
• Assist in training new team members.

The Tooling Maintenance Specialist/Toolmaker ensure that all tooling and molds are clean and well maintained at all times to ensure proper functioning, quality and performance.

Work Conditions/Other

• Ability to work in confined area with loud noise, extreme temperatures, standing for 8+ hours.
• Ability to perform light to moderate physical tasks often, ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Exposure to chemicals used to clean and maintain tools and machinery.
