Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is seeking Tooling Engineers to collaborate with Muskegon-area manufacturers. This role focuses on tooling design, fixture creation, and active production-line support, with frequent coordination with outside shops.

A bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience is preferred. Qualified candidates will have CAD proficiency (SolidWorks / AutoCAD), experience with GD&T, and a track record of supporting tools in manufacturing

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience supporting active production lines.
• Bachelor degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on fixture and gauge design experience.
• Proficient in CAD software for tool and part modeling.
• Knowledge of machining processes and tool materials.

Responsibilities

• Track tooling costs, lead times, and maintenance schedules.
• Run trials on new tools and document results.
• Update tooling drawings and records after changes.
• Support production teams with tooling setup and adjustments.
• Design and build fixtures, jigs, and gauges for production lines.
• Troubleshoot tooling problems during production runs.
• Review tool designs and drawings for accuracy and manufacturability.
• Coordinate tool builds and repairs with outside shops.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $114,000 depending on experience
