Job summary

Spectrum Plastics Group is seeking a capable extrusion/process engineer to develop and optimize medical device extrusion operations. You will work with customers to translate requirements into robust extrusion processes, tooling, and verification plans, using CAD/Minitab tools and CNC machining when needed.

The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, 3+ years in related manufacturing, and a collaborative mindset to support production.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a engineering field (Mechanical/Chemical/Materials) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years in medical device manufacturing and/or extrusion or molding processes.
  • Experience with CNC fabrication and machining is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with customers to develop and commercialize products.
  • Develop extrusion processes considering equipment size, screw type, and downstream equipment.
  • Perform statistical analysis to improve processes and robustness.
  • Design and implement tooling for new extruded products and related equipment.
  • Independently operate equipment in the extrusion process and train others.
  • Prepare documentation and samples for vendors to design, fabricate, troubleshoot, and qualify tooling.
