Northrop Grumman Corp. is seeking a Tooling Engineer - Energetics Manufacturing in Elkton, Maryland.

You will design a range of production tooling components for energetic propulsion systems and coordinate with project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing and quality teams to ensure tooling aligns with project timelines. The role involves coordinating fabrication with machine shops and vendors, managing tooling use in production, and preparing cost estimates for tooling proposals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or related field
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance; US Citizenship required
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience with machine shop fabrication practices
• Knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M)
• Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word; CAD

Responsibilities

• Engineering and design of tooling components for energetic propulsion systems
• Coordinate tooling requirements with project engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, quality
• Coordinate tooling fabrication with machine shop or vendors and monitor scope
• Oversee tool use, checkout and follow-up in production
• Prepare estimates of tooling design and fabrication costs for proposals
• Identify opportunities to improve existing designs
