Job summary

VVI Staffing Consultants is seeking a skilled Tool Designer to join our engineering team in Albemarle, NC. The role focuses on creating precise tooling, gauges, and fixtures to support manufacturing and product development, using CAD and mechanical drafting.

You will read blueprints, coordinate with vendors, and assist with tool layout and measurement using CMMs, ensuring high quality and safe tooling practices.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD software and drafting practices.
• Experience in machining-oriented manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with lab measuring equipment including CMMs.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling, gauges, and fixtures to support production needs.
• Coordinate tooling builds with outside vendors and suppliers.
• Read blueprints to meet customer specifications and tolerances.
• Assist with tooling layout and measurement using CMM equipment.
• Generate Gage R&R and GD&T documentation as required.
