Job summary

The Pivot Group Network in Hudsonville, MI is seeking a Tooling Engineer to design, develop, test manufacturing tools, dies, and fixtures for our partner manufacturers.

You will analyze tooling performance, apply DFMA principles, collaborate with production teams, and manage tooling projects from concept through completion while keeping budgets and schedules on track. Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) and understanding stamping, molding, and CNC processes are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in tooling design, manufacturing, or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for designing and analyzing tooling.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes ( stamping, injection molding, CNC machining ) and material properties.
• Experience with DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles.
• Ability to troubleshoot and optimize tooling performance and resolve manufacturing issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test manufacturing tools, dies, and fixtures.
• Analyze tooling performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manage tooling projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
• Develop and maintain documentation for tooling specifications, maintenance, and operating procedures.
• Evaluate new tooling technologies and materials for potential application in manufacturing processes.
• Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement preventative measures.
