Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace organization to hire a Tooling Engineer in Palmdale, CA. The role focuses on designing tooling, fixtures, gauges, and production equipment for aerospace manufacturing, supporting advanced programs and ensuring tooling integrity.

The position is a Full-Time Consultant for a six-month assignment, with a 9/80 schedule and Monday–Friday workdays. PE certification and a Bachelor's in Engineering are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• PE Certification or equivalent professional credential is required.
• Ability to perform and approve stress analyses on tooling and related designs.
• Experience designing tooling, manufacturing equipment, fixtures, jigs, gauges, or production support systems.

Responsibilities

• Design industrial machinery, equipment, and specialized tooling for production and development.
• Develop tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments for manufacturing operations.
• Evaluate designs for accessibility, performance, mobility, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Perform engineering analyses to ensure tooling integrity and effectiveness.
• Conduct and document stress analyses on tooling and support equipment.
• Produce engineering documentation and design packages meeting requirements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, production, quality, and engineering teams to identify tooling needs.
• Support tooling design improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, and production.
