Job summary

AmTab in Bensenville, IL is seeking a Tool & Die/Machinist specialist to construct and restore progressive and single-hit dies while maintaining tight tolerances on the press. You will also design jigs, fixtures, and tooling layouts, and produce detailed drawings and assembly documentation.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of hands-on Tool & Die experience, strong blueprints and GD&T interpretation skills, and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years in Tool & Die/Machinist capacity or similar.
• Hands-on Tool & Die experience required.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
• Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs and standing at times.

Responsibilities

• Construct progressive and single-hit dies that hold press tolerances.
• Create and refine jigs and fixtures to accelerate furniture manufacturing without sacrificing quality.
• Generate tooling layouts and detailed drawings with assembly documentation.
• Sharpen, dress, and maintain dies for consistent results shift after shift.
• Lead targeted improvements across tooling, products, and processes to resolve root causes and increase efficiency.
