Job summary

Wilson Tool is seeking a CAD-focused designer to prepare detailed designs and document tooling for bending and forming applications. You will use CAD to design parts, document specifications, and communicate with shop floor and sales teams to ensure accurate tooling.

The role requires knowledge of drafting standards and the ability to interpret customer prints, with emphasis on sheet metal fabrication and related processes.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general drafting standards for CAD designs.
  • Ability to visualize abstract parts from customer prints to create sequences and configurations.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and bending experience.
  • Knowledge of various machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Technical math through trigonometric functions.

Responsibilities

  • Creative thinking to develop bending and forming solutions beyond industry limits.
  • Develop and document tooling requirements and bend sequences for customer parts.
  • Communicate instructions, drawings, and design information to shop floor, sales desk, and customer.
  • Assess feasibility to manufacture tooling concepts using manufacturing capacities.
  • Final assembly and testing of tooling designs using press brake equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Business Unit Leader.
