Universal Metal Products in Wickliffe, OH is seeking a skilled Tooling Designer to design tooling for metal stamping, create 2D/3D CAD drawings, and collaborate with toolmakers, engineers, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.

You will support continuous improvement to boost tool performance, troubleshoot design issues, and maintain documentation and design standards in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on manufacturing environment and enjoys designing tooling that drives quality, efficiency, and innovation.

What You'll Do

• Design new tooling, fixtures, and dies for metal stamping operations
• Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications
• Collaborate closely with toolmakers, engineers, and production teams to ensure manufacturability
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tool performance and reduce downtime
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend design modifications
• Maintain documentation, revision control, and design standards

What We're Looking For

• Experience in tooling design for metal stamping or related manufacturing
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
• Strong understanding of die construction, materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
