Job summary

Cypress HCM is seeking a Tool Designer to design and develop tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing. You’ll turn engineering and manufacturing requirements into accurate drawings that can be used to build production tooling, working directly with the manufacturing floor.

The role involves collaborating with operators to troubleshoot tooling and setup issues, observe tryouts, and modify designs before release. CAD skills and geometry are essential.

Qualifications

• Background in mechanical drafting, machine design, and manufacturing equipment.
• CAD proficiency and ability to create technical drawings and reports.
• Geometry and trigonometry understanding; communicate via drawings and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Create and review tooling and fixture designs, sketches, and detailed drawings.
• Design tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing.
• Prepare accurate engineering and manufacturing drawings using accepted drafting practices.
• Work with production employees to identify and solve tooling or manufacturing problems.
• Observe testing and setup of tooling and recommend redesigns when necessary.
• Provide support for process-print design when needed.
• Help improve quality, productivity, and manufacturing processes.
• Follow company safety requirements and applicable regulations.
