Job description

In this role, you will manage tooling creation and design, as well as enhance existing designs for tools used in the manufacturing process. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, focusing on continuous improvement, to ensure a strong tooling program for Operations.

YOUR ROLE:
  1. Design 2D / 3D extrusion tooling and CAD models for the Toolroom.
  2. Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
  3. Read and create blueprints in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2009 standards for use in the Toolroom and production.
  4. Use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation software to assist in die design.
  5. Initiate and file Tooling Introduction paperwork for the Toolroom.
  6. Construct Bills of Materials (BOMs) for tool builds and procure steel materials.
  7. Assist in analyzing extrusion tool issues and recommend solutions.
  8. Work from existing drawings or sketches to create models.
  9. Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and comparators.
  10. Apply thorough knowledge of drafting techniques and engineering terminology.
  11. Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards, including the use of PPE.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Degree in Drafting & Design, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience with CAD or AutoCAD software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of AS-400 systems.
  • Experience with CFD simulation software.
  • Knowledge of extrusion processes is a plus.
Additional Information

The estimated salary range for this role is $63,000 - $95,000, depending on factors such as experience and location. Employees are eligible for annual bonuses or sales incentives, along with comprehensive benefits including health plans, 401(k), product discounts, flexible time off, and inclusive resources.
