Job summary

Trans-Matic Mfg. Co. in Michigan seeks a proactive Tooling Coordinator to drive the master build schedule for internal tooling projects. You will bridge design, engineering and manufacturing, setting daily priorities for the tooling team and ensuring on-time delivery for key product launches.

The role requires shop-floor experience, CNC/machining knowledge, and strong communication to coordinate across engineering, production and procurement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a machine shop environment.
• Functional understanding of CNC Machining and Machine Tool equipment; strong computing skills in scheduling and ERP.
• Ability to read tooling prints and engineering documents tracking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to resolve scheduling conflicts under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Master scheduling: Create, maintain, optimize the production schedule for all new internal tooling builds.
• Priority setting: Dynamic daily workflow control balancing design changes with long-term build goals.
• Capacity tracking: Monitor shop capacity, labor hours, and machine availability to prevent bottlenecks.
• Cross-functional liaison: Facilitate regular meetings with engineering, production and procurement to align on deadlines.
• Progress reporting: Track milestones and communicate risks or delays to leadership.
