Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Tool Service Technician (Service Tech I) to perform maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and tools, while delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves verifying equipment condition, loading/unloading under DOT rules, and assisting senior technicians in daily operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, basic electrical testing knowledge, and strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment.
• Good mechanical aptitude including basic knowledge of tools.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use.
• Report machine condition to Management.
• Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT regulations for height, width and weight.
• Clean all tools and prepare new equipment for rent or sale.
• Demonstrate tools for customers.
• Perform minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including electrical, calibration, certification, and tagging of tools for rental ready status.
• Demonstrate equipment for customers.
• Provide assistance to higher level technicians as needed.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
