Pacific Aerospace & Electronics (PacAero) is seeking two Tool Room Technicians to maintain and organize tooling and supply inventory, including RoboCrib and AutoCrib stock, weekly counts, and tool changes for CNC mills. You will read scales, perform basic shop math, and ensure compliance with shop instructions.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adapting to company needs while maintaining a clean work area and reporting issues to leadership.

PacAero’s core businesses include an array of electronic connectors and housings for the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface.

The Position:
Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining and organizing tooling and supply inventory, including stocking tools in RoboCrib and AutoCrib machines, and collecting daily shipments. Performs weekly physical tool counts and ensures programming folders and filed in numerical order. Sets and changes tools for CNC mills, reads measuring scales and decimals accurately, and follows set-up sheets and shop instructions. Transports parts safely between buildings, performs basic shop math, and adheres to all shop best practices. Maintains a clean and organized work area and promptly reports any operational issues to the lead or supervisor.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 5:00am to 1:30pm

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work cooperatively with all employees.

  • Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous

  • Must be able to retain information and show continued progression towards a level 2 tool room
  • technician.
Tool Room Technician I Responsibilities
  • Stock tools in RoboCrib.
  • Stock supplies in AutoCrib machines.
  • Collect shipments daily.

  • Follow all shop paperwork, processes and best practices.
  • Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Identifying and escalating any operational issues to lead or supervisor.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
Work Environment
  • Noise: The machine shop can often be a loud environment with constant noise from equipment
  • requiring mandatory hearing protection.
  • Safety hazards: Tool room technicians can be exposed to inherent risks from powerful, high-speed equipment, including moving parts and sharp tools. Safety protocols are critical to prevent injuries.
  • Contaminants: The work involves exposure to airborne particles like metal dust, coolant mist, and chemical fumes, necessating adequate ventilation and protective measures to minimize health risks when on the shop floor.
  • Protective gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a requirement for safety. This includes safety glasses and hearing protection on the shop floor.
  • Shift work: Must be flexible to work any of the following shifts: M-Th 5am-3:30pm, M-Th 3:15pm-1:45am, Fri-Sun 5am-6pm, and Fri-Sun 5pm-6am.
Physical Requirements
  • Standing/Sitting: Tool room technicians can spend long hours on their feet.
  • Lifting: The job can require lifting and moving heavy parts or raw materials. Some roles may involve moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds when on the shop floor.
  • Manual dexterity: Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary.
  • Repetitive motion: Many tasks, such as loading and unloading workpieces, deburring parts, inspecting parts, are repetitive and can potentially lead to musculoskeletal issues over time.
  • Precision and vision: Tool room technicians must have excellent close-up vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colors to accurately read blueprints, inspect finished products, and use measuring instruments.
  • Stamina: Physical stamina is required for the duration of a shift to perform all duties of the job.
