Job summary

Flexco, located at 2525 Wisconsin Avenue in Downers Grove, Illinois, is seeking a Manufacturing Manager for the Tool Room. The role is based at the Downers Grove facility and focuses on translating site strategy into actionable execution while leading a skilled team in safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.

The ideal candidate will bring a technical background with strong managerial skills, experience with tooling and machining, and a proven track record in manufacturing excellence.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 4 years in a manufacturing environment with related processes.
• Experience leading people or teams, including supervision.
• Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes; exposure to a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%, some international.
• Experience managing a Tool Room is a huge plus.

Responsibilities

• Owning functional results by setting direction, hiring and developing the right talent, allocating resources, and driving performance.
• Assuring compliance with quality procedures and inspections; work with Quality to resolve issues.
• Accountable for achieving on-time delivery; partner with supply chain on systemic issues.
• Ensure correct structure and headcount; real-time labor allocation and scheduling to meet goals.
• Participate in strategy development; align department plans with overall strategy.
• Drive Lean/CI improvements; identify opportunities and cross-functional collaboration.
• Own departmental operating and capital budgets; manage day-to-day spending and capital projects.
• Establish performance expectations; monitor KPIs and maintain an engaged team.
• Be a member of the safety team and maintain a safe manufacturing environment.
• Apply department-specific expertise to support tooling, machining, assembly, or heat treat.
