Torrey Holistics in Rochester Hills, MI is hiring a Tool Room Maintenance Technician I for the 3rd shift (11:00 pm–7:00 am) with initial training on 1st shift. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, minor repair and visual inspection of tooling to keep molds in top condition.

You will read work orders, disassemble and reassemble molds, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. Requires a HS diploma and 5+ years in tool room/mold maintenance, plus hands-on with surface grinders, lathes, EDM

Qualifications

• 5+ years in tool room/mold maintenance.
• Experience with plastic injection molds.
• Ability to lift 55 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand tooling work orders and follow instructions.

Tool Room Maintenance Technician I (3rd Shift) - Rochester Hills, MichiganContract-to-Hire PositionDay Shift - Pay Rate: approximately $25.00+ per hour (based on proven work history)Third Shift (after initial training on 1st) - 11:00pm-7:00am*This will be a 3rd Shift position but training will be required on 1st for several weeks (1st shift runs 7am-3pm)Position Summary of the Tool Room Maintenance Technician I (3rd Shift):To maintain high quality tooling through preventative maintenance, minor repair, and visual evaluation.Roles and Responsibilities of the Tool Room Maintenance Technician I (3rd Shift):Must be a team player and educate and share ideals when neededRead and understand tooling work orders and follow instructionsResponsible for the correct disassembly and assembly of molds in a safe and timely mannerAble to clean molds and assist Maintenance Technicians when neededWork to a schedule and meet deadlines in a timely mannerMaintain a clean and well-organized work areaUtilize measuring equipment that includes micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore micrometers, etc.Assist in the monitoring process to help keep a reasonable component inventory in stockReduce machine downtimeMaintain all tools and equipment that are used including the daily cleaning of tool room machineryAssist in maintaining maintenance records on the company computer systemWork with little or no supervision when given clear directionWork with Process Engineers to troubleshoot issues with tool or improve onBe able to work on the production floor with tool in press to correct any issue to keep downtime at a minimumAble to operate a Surface Grinder with in a + or - .0002 on critical detailsAble to operate a Bridgeport/Lathe with in a + or - .001 toleranceAble to run an EDM machineKnowledge of Manifold systems (Example: Mold Master, Senventive, Osco, etc.)Able to polish and bench detailsAbility to fit new detail and spot inAbility to troubleshoot issues and repairsKnowledge of hydraulic systemsOther duties as assignedEducation and Experience Requirements of the Tool Room Maintenance Technician I (3rd Shift):High School Diploma or equivalent5+ years of hands on experience in a tool room involving plastic injection mold repair or mold maintenanceSkills and Physical Requirements of the Tool Room Maintenance Technician I (3rd Shift):3+ years of experience using hand operated tool room equipmentKnowledge and understanding of mold and die components and their respective characteristicsAbility to read and understand tooling work ordersGood verbal and written communication skillsBasic computer skillsPrototype tool making experience, helpfulPlastic injection processing experience, highly desiredTrade school or some college, preferredAbility to lift 55 poundsExcessive walking, bending, standing, climbing, and liftingAbility to visually inspect tools with high degree of accuracyAbility to run machines and equipment safely and efficientlyA successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.By applying for this role, you confirm that all information submitted is accurate and complete.
