Job summary

Amsted Automotive, TransForm Products Division in Sterling Heights, is seeking CNC Tool Room Machinists for day (7 am–3 pm) and afternoon (3 pm–11 pm) shifts with a 15% premium. You will support daily Tool Room operations, set up and program CNC machines, and ensure tooling parts meet tight tolerances.

The role requires reading blueprints, knowledge of IATF16949/ISO14001/Q1, and a strong attention to quality.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance.
• Proficient with computer and control panels.

Responsibilities

• Support the daily operations of the Tool Room.
• Set up and program CNC machines.
• Perform machining operations on a variety of tools and parts to close tolerances.
• Ensure quality of all tooling parts produced.
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.

What You'll Do

Responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Tool Room.

What You Need To Succeed

• Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principals
• Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings
• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives
• Ability to set up and program CNC machines
• Performs machining operations on a variety of tools and machine details to close tolerances
• Responsible for quality of all tooling parts produced
• Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe

Knowledge And Skills

• Must be able to read blueprints as appropriate
• Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria
• Usage of a computer and other productivity machinery such as a calculator and control panels

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet production standards
• Must have a positive, proactive, and problem-solving attitude
• Excellent attention to detail

Essential Physical Demands

• Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping and performing repetitive motion tasks
• Excellent manual dexterity, ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with continuous exposure to noise
• Must be able to work necessary overtime if required
